For everyone

Ancientstone is made for players from younger pupils to advanced adults. Choose how hard the puzzles are and how dangerous the depths feel, and change it at any time.

Five difficulty levels

Difficulty changes the puzzles, the fights and the dangers. You can switch at any time, and what you have solved stays solved. The inscriptions and their dictionaries are the same on every level.

  • Younger pupils: simpler puzzles and fuller hints
  • Middle pupils
  • Older pupils: the puzzles in their original form
  • Adults
  • Advanced adults: the hardest

Gentler depths

Each kind of danger has its own setting. There is no blood: bites and discharges cost health, and at zero you faint and come to again. What you have solved stays solved.

  • Guardians: normal, calm (slower, hitting softer and less often) or off
  • Spiders: normal, calm or off
  • Traps: normal, gentle or off

Help when you need it

Every puzzle has its own help page that gives the rule and shows it on a different example. Hints come step by step, and the knowledge journal keeps every rule and every line you have read.
