About the game

A first-person puzzle expedition beneath the earth. Descend through 21 cave labyrinths, decipher the script of those from above, rebuild science's great experiments, repair their broken machines and outwit 13 guardians with their own arenas.

Descend where the light does not reach

The entrance has closed behind you. You have an emitter and a tablet. Ahead lie 21 labyrinths in natural caves: limestone gives way to sandstone, slate and basalt, the passages narrow, and light grows precious.

Read what those from above left behind

In 62 halls the walls carry signs of an unknown script. Build a dictionary, lay words on the signs and translate line by line. Beside each inscription stands a Sumerian tablet about the same event. The inscription says what really happened. The tablet says how the myth remembered it.

Rebuild the great experiments

92 puzzle halls of 89 kinds, made of bronze, basalt and dressed stone. Measure the Earth with two wells, as Eratosthenes did. Test the crown, as Archimedes did. Find the well where the cholera began. Cross the bridges without walking any twice. Every puzzle follows from a rule the game gives you, and every puzzle has exactly one answer.

Bring the machines back to life

35 machines of 25 kinds stand in the passages and grottoes. The priests broke them. Inspect a machine and a hologram shows how it worked and what is broken. Find the missing part, set it in place, power it with your emitter, and the labyrinth turns into your ally. The journal explains each machine's real principle and who discovered it.

Thirteen guardians

From the eighth labyrinth on, guardian spheres left by those from above hold the way down. Each has its own arena, and every arena is a puzzle. A fight lasts one to three minutes, and it is won by understanding, not by aim. Every arena has three medals, and cleared arenas wait in the Guardian Trials.
